Era uma vez em pleno inverno, quando os flocos de neve estavam caindo como se fossem plumas do céu, uma rainha se sentou na janela enquanto costurava, e a moldura da janela era feita de ébano. E enquanto ela estava costurando e olhando a neve que caía lá fora da janela, ela picou o dedo com a agulha, e três gotas de sangue caíram sobre a neve. E a cor vermelha do sangue parecia bela sobre a neve branca, e ela pensou consigo mesma:<br>
