'''DECLARAÇÃO DO PARLAMENTO DA REPÚBLICA DA LITUÂNIA'''
O Parlamento da República da Lituânia,
*destacando o facto da República da Lituânia ter subscrito a Convenção para a Prevenção e a Repressão do Crime de Genocídio de 9 de Dezembro de 1948 e a Convenção sobre a Imprescritibilidade dos Crimes Contra a Humanidade e dos Crimes da Guerra de 26 de Novembro de 1968;
emphasising that the Republic of Lithuania acceded to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide of 9 December 1948 and to the Convention on the Non-Applicability of Statutory Limitation to Crimes against Humanity and War Crimes of 26 November 1968,

One fifth of the Ukrainian population perished as a result of this deliberate atrocity. During the famine/genocide organised and executed by the Communists in 1932-1933, approximately 25 thousand people died daily in Ukraine, while the Soviet authorities exported approximately 1,7 million tons of grain from the country to the West. It must be noted that the Soviet Union had for decades covered up and denied the atrocities planned and executed in Ukraine in 1932-1933 by the totalitarian communist regime under Stalin;
taking account of the fact that on 26 November 1998, the President of Ukraine issued a decree establishing that the fourth Saturday in November be a National Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Famines and Political Repressions, and on 28 November 2002, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine recognised the famine organised in Ukraine in 1932-1933 an act of genocide against the Ukrainian people,
